Fixed retainer on the inside of the teeth

So it stays that way

Long-term stabilisation with retainers

The whole practice team is delighted with your beautiful smile. To keep it that way, the result should be stabilised.

Removable retainers

Removable retainers stabilise the teeth while still allowing a certain settling of the bite for a perfect result. They are mainly worn at night and are easy to clean.

Fixed retainer wires

Alternatively we recommend fixed retainer wires, which are bonded to the inside of the teeth and provide the necessary stability around the clock without you having to insert anything yourself. They are bent individually and with great care from high-quality materials in our in-house lab and then attached very delicately, so nothing stands in the way of very good oral hygiene. Using dental floss is also advisable.

Why stabilisation is so important

Teeth tend to drift back towards their old position after treatment. A retainer reliably prevents this and protects the investment in your new smile, even many years after treatment is complete.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know

How long does a retainer have to be worn?

Fixed retainers usually stay permanently on the inside of the teeth. Removable retainers are worn daily at first and later only at night. We agree the duration individually.

Does a fixed retainer get in the way of brushing?

The delicate wire is attached so that nothing stands in the way of very good oral hygiene. Dental floss can still be used with small aids.

What happens if the retainer comes loose?

Please contact us promptly. A loose retainer is quickly repaired or remade in our lab so the teeth don't shift.
